Sal Holmes, one of the rising stars in the comedy business, was born and raised in the gritty rugged streets of Newark, NJ. Sal always knew he had a unique sense of humor. He was raised by his mother and father, who worked in the Newark Public School system. His father was not only his parent, but his teacher and basketball coach! He got sent to his father's class almost daily for acting up in school! Sal learned he had an exciting gift for making people laugh. He was named "The Most Humorist Person" in his elementary class as well as high school. It was a polite was of saying he was the class clown! Those were not pranks; that was raw comedic talent!!
Sal has been a radio announcer on Seton Hall University's WSOU 89.5 FM Pirate Radio where he brought the funny. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He would make his fellow soldiers laugh in some of the most harsh and brutal locations in the world! This is where his formal comedy career started. He has performed at clubs wherever he was stationed with bases in Saudi Arabia, Korea, Japan, Italy, and Germany. He has also performed domestically at Broadway Comedy Club, Gotham Comedy Club, Laugh House, Allure's, Sugar Ray's Comedy Club, and The World-Famous Apollo! Sal is an actor, starring in the film "Nicknames." He also owns Sweetz Comedy Club. You will definitely enjoy his raw, witty, social, and observational style of comedy!

It’s one thing when your friends and family tell you that you are funny, it’s a different story when perfect strangers tell you. That is how John got into performing stand up. One day, one of those strangers (now a friend) got John his first 5 minutes of stage time. Soon after starting comedy, John Espo (from Stamford, CT) was taken under the wing of Harlem Living Legend Kenny Woo.
Since then, Espo has traveled the nation and performed at places such as the legendary Apollo Theater with Team Capone. He has also performed at The Orlando Improv, The Cleveland Improv, The Hartford Funny Bone, The Stress Factory in Connecticut and New Jersey, Comedy in Harlem, The Atlanta Comedy Theatre, and Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Club. John has also been blessed enough to be able to share the stage with greats like Smokey Suarez, Talent, Shawn Harvey, and many more! John’s comedy style can only be described as a happy go lucky take on his life, family, and personal experiences.
